Employee on way to work who spotted dog being dumped by roadside with food and blanket stops to save pupper, but unable to care for her himself finds loving furever home with extended family: ‘My dad and step-mom met him and fell hard for him.’

No doggo rescue is pawfect, and many more that we'd like actually end in tears. So we are delighted to share an example of the kind that have a wholesome ending even if its beginning was less than ideal.

While scrolling Reddit's r/nashville subreddit you might expect to come upon resutaruant reccomendations, community gatherings and live music events. But when we came upon this story of canine rescue we knew we had to share it with you much like the story's rescuer felt they had to share their story with the world. For this is a story that highlights just how nonsensical it is for anyone to simply dump an unwanted pet, and how much it impacts the people who end up finding the abandoned sweetheart and have to essentially do what the original pawrent should have as well as taking on any extra injuries that might have happened along the way.

We highlight this part of the problem because in this story our rescuers were not in a position to actually house the pupper they had found, much as they wanted to. Meaning that what could have been a simple scooping up off the street and straight into a furever home would never come to fruition. Leaving these canine cuddlers with the burden of finding a suitable home for a doggo whom they had barely even gotten a chance to know. But at least they took on said responsibility and saw to it that this pup would never be in a position to be dumped again. And with that we leave you to enjoy this heartwarming tale of dedicated dog lovers who saw the light and love in the eyes of a dog who had no hope.

Just what in the hecking heck has happened here. First off we have to give a tip of the hat to the universal forces that made it so that this man would forget his badge and have to come home. But also how in the world does someone have that much guilt and shame in their heart about not being able to care for their canine anymore that they would leave it like that. As though it makes it any better that you left the pupper with some food and a blanket, like it would help the hooman who would come along and clean up your mistake. Truly abhorrent these kinds of events are, but at least this doggo has been seen by people who care and will soon be receiving the love and support it deserves.

Oh we feel you kind rescuer. It is incredibly tough to carry empathy for a person who has essentially just unloaded their problems upon you. That is an uncomfortable thing in any kind of situation. But here you have the added issue that now you have to do the work of finding this sweet canine a home, something which the neglectful owner should have been irresponsible for in the first place. If only for the doggo’s sake, it must have been so horrible to be abandoned like that. And now he has to acclimate to his temporary home and start all over in his final furever home. It takes a lot for a doggo to get used to their surroundings and feel at home.
